The goal of our training is
to instill knowledge and attitude that
ensure driver responsibility and safety.
The Drivers Ed course consists of thirty
(30) hours of classroom instructions, six
(6) hours of driving and six (6) hours of
observation in a drivers education
car. The 30 hours of classroom
instruction are divided into 15 two-hour
sessions. Classes meet on Mondays,
Wednesdays and Fridays at 4 p.m. ending
at 6 p.m., or 6 p.m. ending at 8 p.m. In
the summer we offer additional classroom
sessions from 11am until 1pm.
After four classroom
sessions, the student is usually ready to
take the Instruction
Permit examination at the Office of the
Secretary of State. We provide free transportation service to and from the
Secretary of State to receive the
Instruction Permit. After receiving an
Instruction Permit, the student schedules
12 hours for behind-the-wheel driving and
observation time. The school will
schedule driving appointments at the
student's convenience.
The student should complete
the Driver Education Course in five
weeks. The full tuition fee must be paid
by the completion of the course. All
students who satisfactorily complete both
the classroom and behind-the-wheel
instruction phases of the program will be
presented an Illinois Driver Education
Certificate.
